SUBJECT: CHANGE IN NO. 56-MURRAY HILL LINE
NO. 24-LAKESIDE LINE DISCONTINUEDBeginning Sunday, January 29, the route of the No. 56-Murray Hill line will be changed and buses will be operated as follows:
Southbound over the present route to Charles Street and Wyndhurst Avenue, then -
West on Wyndhurst Avenue,
South on Keswick Road,
West on Cold Spring Lane,
South on Roland Avenue to Somerset Road,looping at center parking area and
continuing north on Roland Avenue,taking layover on Roland Avenue north of
Somerset Road and returning,North on Roland Avenue,
East on Cold Spring Lane,
North on Keswick Road,
East on Wyndhurst Avenue to Charles Street,then north over the present route
Designated northbound trips will be operated from north on Charles Street, west on Woodbrook Lane to a designated loop and return eastbound over Woodbrook Lane, North on Charles Street to northern terminus as follows:
Weekdays and Saturdays - 4 in A.M. and 5 in P.M.
Sundays - 4 in A.M. and 4 in P.M.Service on the No. 56 line is scheduled to leave Roland Avenue and Somerset Road as follows:
Weekdays and Saturdays - between 6:43 A.M. and 10:47 P.M.
Sundays - between 7:13 A.M. and 10:47 P.M.Service on the No. 56 route on Charles Street from Wyndhurst Avenue to Bedford Square will be discontinued.
Service on the No. 24 route from Roland and Lake Avenues to Lakeside will be discontinued.
FARE TRANSACTIONS OUTBOUND
Passengers tendering transfers from intersecting lines, or paying 13¢ or one token fare, will be permitted to ride to Charles Street and Gittings Avenue. Those alighting north of Gittings Avenue will leave by the front door and deposit an additional zone fare of 5¢.
Passengers boarding bus at or north of Charles Street and Gittings Avenue will not deposit a fare until they leave the bus.
FARE TRANSACTIONS ON NORTHBOUND TRIPS
LEAVING A DESIGNATED LOOP AT WOODBROOK LANEPassengers desiring to reach City points will deposit 18¢, or one token and 5¢, and will be given an identification check for use on intersecting lines.
Passengers desiring to ride between Woodbrook Lane and Bellona and Haddon Avenue will deposit 13¢ or one token. Should such passengers remain on bus after leaving Bellona and Haddon Avenues, Operator shall request them to deposit a city zone fare of 5¢, and shall issue, upon request, an identification check for use on intersecting lines.
FARE TRANSACTIONS WHEN INBOUND
Passengers boarding southbound buses between northern terminus and Charles Street and Gittings Avenue, and desiring to reach City points, will deposit 18¢ or one token and 5¢ and will be given, upon request, an identification check for use on intersecting lines.
Passengers boarding southbound buses between northern terminus, and Charles Street and Gittings Avenue, and desiring to alight north of Gittings Avenue, will deposit 13¢ or one token. Should passengers remain on bus south of Gittings Avenue, Operator must request them to pay an additional City zone fare of 5¢.
The issuance and acceptance of transfers, retransfer coupons and identification checks will be outlined on an attached sheet.
