During much of the history of Baltimore's transit, there have been bus lines for which the standard buses of the time did not really suit the particular needs of the line, either due to the size of the coaches, or due to the length or ridership of the line. In these cases, the company would purchase special coaches for these particular lines. The following table lists some of these special coaches, and details how they were assigned both at the beginning and ending points of their careers:
