FARE INFORMATION

Although the BTCo is one of the few large independent Transit Operators in the country, this does not mean that riding the BTCo is not a great deal as well!

Travel on BTCo is easy and convenient, and numerous fare methods such as tokens and passes can make riding even more economical.

Cash and Token fares must be paid in exact fare upon boarding the vehicle.  In order to speed the ride for everyone including yourself, please have your fare ready to deposit, not tucked away in your wallet or pocket.  There are no zone fares on BTCo vehicles, although some suburban operators use zone fares on some routes.  An explanation of these is explained below.  A transfer may also be purchased when boarding the vehicle that will allow you 2 hours of unlimited travel from the time you board the first vehicle.

CURRENT FARES EFFECTIVE 5/29/00 are as follows:

  • SINGLE TRIP: $1.50
  • SINGLE TRIP (Senior Citizens): 75¢
  • TRANSFER: 50¢
  • SENIOR TRANSFER: FREE
  • DAILY PASS (Purchased aboard vehicle): $4.00
A Daily Pass entitles you to a day of unlimited rides aboard BTCo (and other local operators' bus lines).  In addition, this pass entitles the bearer to a $2.00 discount on any single ticket on MDot Commuter Trains (one discount per day).  Simply show your pass when purchasing your ticket, and allow the agent to punch the ticket.  In addition, Daily Pass holders are allowed unlimited travel on MDot trains within the Baltimore City Limits.  Thus, the pass is good for free use between any of the following stations:
  • Mount Washington
  • Woodberry
  • Pennsylvania Station
  • Calvert Station
  • Biddle Street
