While many otherwise overlooked historical vestiges on the streets of our city have been ignored and discarded, there seems to be at least a slight degree of interest in the streets themselves.  Despite a growing repuation for having pothole laden obstacle courses for streets, a number of interesting aspects of the streets have been preserved, maintained, and even cared for by the city as well as those in the community.  This section will include a number of tidbits based in both the past and present regarding one of the most fundamental necessities of Baltimore, it's streets:
